Certified but no IT experience

LPIC Level one but most of my experience is in the wireless portion of technilogy.
Anybody have thoughts on my chances of switching over to IT with Unix/Linux as the focus of my job description.

I think its going to be pretty hard. I have experience and the LPIC. When I mention that I have the LPIC on interviews they kind of brush it off like its nothing. That may not always be the case though, but thats what it seems to be for me.
