Certification ..??
Hi Guys
Which flavour (among AIX, Solaris n RHEL) is having high market demand & good chance of growth. Any other Suggestion are welcome Thanks in advance.... Nandu. |

Also, in my opinion, certifications are pretty meaningless. |
I work as a trainee in an Organization.
I work with many servers daily which were mostly Solaris & AIX. I need to do some certification by end of the year to improve my ratings...? |
A number of points:
This is posted in the sub-forum about the Linux from Scratch distro/distro kit (whichever is the correct term); if the question has anything at all to do with LFS, I've missed it. Quote:

My impression is that Solaris has had quite a respectable market share, in the mainstream, but there is little or no growth in market share if that is what you mean (maybe you mean personal growth, which would be something else entirely). AIX has always struck me as being more niche, which may or may not be an issue, depending on whether you are interested in the niche in which AIX plays well. |

If you're worried about your 'ratings' at the company where you work, try learning what's available to you, and show your employer that you're learning, and are eager to work. Having a certification is pointless, unless you actually DO the work. And if you ARE doing the work, your employer won't CARE that you don't have a certification...they'll know they can trust you, and your work, and treat your accordingly. |

http://jobsearch.monsterindia.com/search.html Regulars on LQ won't be probably able to guide you on "high market demand" and "growth chance" issues, reason being that they aren't where you are. They are in countries different than yours. |
