Exclamation Virus detection reported during booting

I've got Lindwos 4.0 CD distributed along with a pc magazine. I adjusted bios setup so that it booted from Cd. After I selected "run demo", the system reported "virus is detected" immediately. Does it make sense?

To me, it doesn't (unless my Cd is not the "genuine" one) . BTW, my PC motherboard has build-in virus protection in firmware. I don't think it is related although I am not 100% sure. But as far as I understand, Lindows demo software should not alter my MBR or anything.

Thanks for your help.

Yeah, it is the virus protection. If you shut that built-in virus detection off in the BIOS, that should fix your problem. I had the same problem with my box when I first tried booting off a live CD. I suppose the virus software doesn't like the bootloader or something along those lines. Hope that helps!
