I have just purchased an inexpensive computer with Linspire installed. I am familiar with Red Hat and Fedora Core 4, I can not figure out how to add non root users to the sytem. Can anyone give me a clue. Linspire appears to be quite a different thing from other Linux systems.

Hi Bill

I've been asked to make some posts. I can't answer your question, but I have taken up Linspire and I'm not on a completely flat learning curve. Could be I might be asking you questions, but if I get any ideas on your problem I may come back to you.

Seems to me we rely on the experts to answer most of the questions adequately.

Click on the Launch icon and then settings and then additional options. You will see the User Manager. That will allow you to add users. You can than log in as a regular user. If you need to make changes in anything (maybe add another user) you will be prompted for the root password.

To add what David said, here are some other resources that may or may not help you:

-Good Luck!

P.S. Would be interesting to hear how you like Linspire after your Red Hat experience.
