Old Laptop Help


Finally, I have a very old laptop Compaq Contura 400c with 8mb of ram and need a linux os to put on it that will be easy to use. What so you recommend

do you want to run a GUI on it???

Yes. I would like soemthing easy, even if its just for email and web browsing.

I'm a real beginner when it comes to Linux

what kinda cpu does that thing have???

you could also try installing a regular distro in text-mode and then putting a light window manager on it...

Here are the specs I could find 80486 with 8mb Ram

Don't know how to do that and I prefer a gui system
