Question No Audio from web browsers

I am a newbie on Linspire 5.0 & Ubuntu to learn Linux and move Windows aside. The issue is my audio. I am able to play and listen to mp3's and wma's through Lsongs and Kplayer. I am not able to here anything from YouTube or anything else through my Foxfire browser or, Linspire's default browser, Mozilla. I have search through the forums but I have not found anything that address this problem.
I have tried the command 'dmesg' in terminal program, just got garbage. I also tried it in run command. Nothing!
Ubuntu, on my other system, gives me pages of info hopefully to trouble shoot problems on this distro.

Most likely you need a plug-in; MPlayer (and MPlayer plug-in for Mozilla-based browsers). MPlayer and the plug-in are separate products and may be available for your distributions ready-built or you can download the source code and build them yourself. You may also want to look at RealPlayer and Flashplayer for the plug-ins. A quick Google search will turn up the web sites for all these.
