Hey Geneius, I really thought that I'd be flamed. But I thought it was cool of you for being open minded and accepting other peoples point of view.
I'd like to make it clear that I'm not necessarily against Linspire and all I can recommend to everyone who like computers is to try out everything you can out there. There's always something more to learn regardless being Linux, FreeBSD, whatever. Just in my case, with so many free distros around, Linspire is not really attractive for me, but I do, realize that many have had problems with Linux and if Lindows/Linspire works then great.
The very best Linux distribution of all, is the one that works for you
Cheers!

i do like lindows some what it is not too bad, the only thing good about it for advanced linux users it apt get, and the fact u can install debs, other than that, bah not very interesting, if u like lindows, get debian, thats what it is built off of, and has way more support than ne other distro. but i use neither of those, im a religous suse user

Hey All
if Linspire works for some...so be it...it is linux based....i started with Sun's JDS...while trying to deal with Sun's outsourced tech help....who couldn't tell me that winmodems wouldn't work in Linux...i found LQ....then moved on to Mandrake 9.2.....after a short amount of time, my computer became a linux computer...no Windoze..no M$ software....along the way i discovered Terminal...and it brought me back to my DOS or DR-DOS days, back in the 80's...i now travel in both the KDE GUI and the Line commands in terminal...
i just ordered a new computer..so i can install Debian....i can't wait to do LFS...
For those who say Lindows or Linspire or (in the netherlands) Lin...s ...lol....is not Linux... if it's not M$....it's a step in the right direction...besides....curiosity could get more people interested in looking deeper into Linux..and i think that's a good thing....
I learned a great deal about linux just from trying to figure out why the modem wouldn't work...and installing the Alsa Drivers...
bet all those newbies using Lindows are starting to think about the same things..
k...ranting.....sorry...
just my 3 cents
Tom

I think the click and run is a great way to get new users, one: it helps them download the software they want with ease and two: alot of the software developers get donations from Linspire, so its a win-win. when i first started with linux i used Lindows to start me off, now im using redhat and suse, you have to start somwhere why not with Linspire?
