Linspire has just "pwned" every other distribution
Linspire has just "pwned" every other distribution out there with 5.0.
It is funny because out of ignorance and noobism so many people laughed and scorned Linspire.
Now Linspire has released the best distribution yet.
Eat your heart out flamers, I wont be responding to you :P

you make it sound like this was somehow proven in a court of law or something...
i'm sure their logo is just lovely. other than that... i can't imagine a world were i would want to actively pretend i was using windows...
but that's it... it's personal choice. personally i'd hate to ever have to use linspire, and that's my right to think that. it doesn't make me ignorant or stupid, just means i am free.

and a very bizarre over hyped use of some random mp3 player kit... so it can't decide if it's a windows replacement of a jukebox?? mmm focused.

In all seriousness, I'd like to hear his opinion on what makes linspire 5.0 so great. Please find something I can't do on gentoo.

Could you please quantify your claim? I'm anxious to learn what I can do on Linspire that I can't do on Suse, Mandrake, Slackware, or even Fedora (after patching everything that Redhat has broken -- sorry, I just hate Redhat )

its not what it does, more as how it does it. gentoo is all configuring and building form source, wheras linspire has automated it all and made it all easier, while still maintaining its linux base.

Fair enough. I just think a "pwned" status is certainly overrated. I also don't like the Linspire attitude, but that's just a personal preference. I like the gentoo community, and I like the gentoo and debian attitudes. Again, just personal preference.

My understanding of it is Linspire was made to work right out of the box. From my perspective that is a huge plus for a Linux distro. My experiences with Linux so far have been nightmarish.

Suse runs right out of the box
Mandrake runs right out of the box
Knoppix runs right out of the box
Heck, even Fedora kinda runs right out of the box

kinda? lol. it either does or it doesnt.
i agree, its all about personal preference. i just tried linspire 5.0 this morning, from the live cd. i might actually install it :-) they have improved, and now it is a true competitor to suse and mandrake.

I'm poking fun at the fact that there is no "stable" build of Fedora (it's RedHat's "experimental" platform), RedHat's dumping of the Desktop market, abandoning workstation and desktop customers a few years ago (I hope Redhat goes under for that boneheaded move!), and just Fedora in general. No real malice was intended, and no, I wasn't looking to spark a distro war.

That's great. I don't get why people look down on the more complete and polished distributions. For those people; there is runlevel 3. You don't LOSE anything by choosing a distribution which includes more on the install media.
