Linspire 5.0 review and poll
Linspire 5.0 review and poll
Please “only answer” if you have actually installed
Linspire 5.0 or higher and ran it for more than 2 weeks.
This poll is not intended for anti-linspire linux users
that have never even run the distribution.
If you have used Linspire 5.0 and higher, please post
your likes and dislikes, the pros and cons. Two weeks
may not be enough time to fully evaluate this distribution,
but please try to be positive and constructive in your comments.
Thank you

I am quite impressed with Linspire's latest offering. I am not a Linux geek, but I can still get the quality, security, and value of Linux without knowing how to roll my own kernel. Great looks, easy to use, and Linux under the hood.... What's not to love about Linspire 5.0?????

I've not used it myself, but the screenshots look awesome, it seems like the spent quite a while perfecting their gui.

Linspire 5.0
This has got to be the easiest Linux yet. It runs just about everything with no problem, and is as stable as it gets. I can do so much more than I could ever do with Windows and at a fraction of the cost. Great going Linspire.

Easy - Productive – Linspire
For a non-preinstalled system, Linspire is the easiest installation. Out-of-the-box has all the applications required for average productivity (Web Browsing, E-mail, Office Suite, Music & Photo management). Give it a try: LinspireLive

Very nice and easy distro.
I'm a System Manager and I was looking for a system for daily use that is stable,
easy and without the hassles the systems I manage, give me everyday.
Well, I found Linspire and I can tell one thing it WORKS!!!
It's EASY, stable and safe, no virus, no spyware, no worms.
CNR is awsome, configuration and programs installation is a breeze.
Now, I have Linspire running in all my home systems and my laptop.
Thank you Linspire for making Linux so easy.

Hi, I have used Linspire for the past two weeks and 5-0 is really get and ideal for the home user and those migrating from Microsoft if I were to give it marks ease of use 10/10 all the features you may want Office programs L/songs L/photo Nvu and more along with a splendid look and feel to it, and yes it is a linux distro aimed at those in the market that would not consider Linux. Suitable for young and old Also with a little help and no computer experience at all you could use this. Thats why more people in the UK are considering an alternative o/s

5.0 is good to go
I have tried several distros and this is by far the easiest. I have only been working with linux for about a year. I think by time 7.0 comes out windows will become a thing in the past for home users. Just give us the games ..... http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...readid=310976#

linspire is my choice os.
i love just installing distros, and only a few distros have lasted more than a month, and i have found that each has its pros and cons.
Linspire is a great os. I love CNR--easiness (lazyness ?). the GUI/theme is amazing. they have done a lot to help linux reach the mainstream.
each linux has its place.

Linspire 5.0
Great distro. Powerful, easy install - it is up and running in about 10-15 minutes. I am at the stage now where I just want a system to run - I don't want to spend time compiling, etc - just want the system to run so I can spend my time on the computer having fun/accomplishing what I need done.

Good suggestion - go to the Linspire Forum. Also: did you check to see if your modem is a "win-modem?"
