linspire 5.0 install problem

hello, i am using a giga-byte ga-k8ns-ultra 939 amd 64 3500 motherboard combination. i have been unable to install linspire 5.0, i have tried to install using sata and ide connectors or a combination of both but without success.i have a abit an7 amd athlon xp 2400 combination in a 2nd computer and i had no problems installing linspire 5.0. is the gigabyte m/b not compatible with linspire 5.0? thank you, richard.

Well can you boot into diagnostic mode (or something) from the CD ?
it should make the bootsplash go away so you can see the actual kernel output (so you can see where it panics or someting like that).
or don't you even get that ? I have a PackardBell laptop that won't even get passed the GRUB stage (where Debian SID and SuSE 10 with GRUB work fine).
