I run Lindows because it gives me the power of Linux at the same time as it is very simple and "just works". Program installations are fast through CNR, hardware is detected automatically etc.

In my opinion: I found LindowsOS to be worthless for me. A few examples:

* It ran very slow on my modern hardware (whereas mandrake, gentoo, and others ran quick with any desktop/WM/program)
* KDE broke when I tried a simple apt-get install of a popular free program
* apt-get wanted to remove critical Lindows related packages with simple
program updates so I couldn't update what I wanted to with apt-get
* I like my experiences in Linux to be FREE so I didn't use CNR which many will say is helpful but I can't see why I should have to pay for/to program installs/updates when with other distros they can be had for free.

IMO if you want a Windows atmosphere, use Windows. Why waste system resources dumbing down the Linux desktop just so it feels more like another OS? Some people will pay for the protection that a simple OS provides them with. With simple OS' come big limitations. Even if you try to use a modified Linux distro that tries to make itself look like Win as much as possible, you're going to lose somewhere, and it's usually in performance and cost. With so many free distributions that are so much better IMO than LindowsOS, why even bother with LindowsOS? Do you really want to switch to Linux and continue paying for your OS? Check out the free Linux distros and then if you really want to torture yourself, go ahead and try /_1nD0wZ.

Note: all defensive responses will be ignored. I don't waste my time with simpletons.

^^^^^ This entire post was all in my opinion

Cool Lindows is the greatest!!!!

My personal experience with LOS is that it is simple enough that anyone is able to use it. The reasons that I chose LOS where the because of:

*CNR ware house it make installing apps easy, and I know that they are going to work. I know that many of the apps in there aren't the newest, or the greatest, but that OK for me they work, LOS doesn't break, and I don't have to worry about it.

*The great support that they give to the linux desktop community. They support the community both monetarily, and with man hours.

*The great community atmosphere that they have on their forums. Very helpful to anyone who asks.

*And the last reason that I chose LOS is because they are the only Linux OS that is actually fighting MS. They are the thorn in M$ side.

Basically if you are the type of person who wants to come home turn on you computer and have it work, add software with out it breaking, and be part of a great on-line community then LOS is the distro for you. But remember this is just MHO.
