installing new program in freespire?
 

hello again guys,,,,,,
as you know I am a new user of freespire and I don't Know how to install a new program?(eg:Gimp which is not installed by default)

:scratch: is there a type of files like RPM in Mandrake?
:confused: if yes what is it?
:study: What's web site can help me?

Right next to the download freespire tab is a Wiki/Faq/Forums and everything else. Including a full set of instructions for how to use the software.

I believe you go about it this way:

Open up a terminal

sudo apt-get update
apt-get install gimp

If you don't have have synaptic installed - I would just install that first and use synaptic.

sudo apt-get update
apt-get install synaptic

That is pretty much it.

The freespire forum has a lot of good advice a well.
