I am trying out freespire EDIT 1.0.13

(2) I have seen a thread on WHAT the Jiffy at the freespire site and the possible solution to disable with the chmod command.

3) what I have not understood is

why does the jiffymount want to create a new fstab file and

are there any issues with jiffyboot overwriting people's bootloader.

4) Google of jiffy etc has not been kind to me.
LQ wiki has a zero page on jiffy.
I am getting a database error trying to search the wiki at freespire on jiffy.
I have failed to find a man page and nothing in /usr/share/doc in a running freespire.
Nil results jiffyboot and jiffymount at debian's support and 4 unrelated hits for search of jiffy at that site

ok I got a reply from the Freespire site so it appears to be a hangover to old code and can be disabled and one can use other techniques to mount or automount etc
