Sounds like you might've had another drive (or something) plugged into a USB port that was confusing it.
A
ctrl+c would usually shake it past the offending line of code.
If ya need a more "up to date" copy of Linspire I have some OEM packages of the 5-0.
Still using it on an email archiving machine that just doesn't wanna die.
