Grub Issue

I currently have Debian as my main OS with Win XP Pro, Ubuntu, Slackware and FreeBSD. This is an AMD 1.2ghz tower system with 384mb of ram.

I just installed Linspire 5.0 in another partition /dev/hda9 and during installation, didn't want it to take over the MBR, Debian Grub handles all boot options.

Once Linspire got installed, and I adjusted Debian's grub to add Linspire, I get this error message when it try to boot.

Software Suspend 2.1.7: Need to use resume2= command line parameter to tell Software Suspend2 where to look for image.

What does this mean and how can I fix it? It happens after the kernel seems to start loading.

Thnx.

If you search at the lin-pire forums you will find this problem comes up fairly often and I do not think anyone has come up with a EXACT reason why or a exact solution either.... It seems to think that you are resuming from hibernation but why??? Possibly changing/playing with the boot time arguments might help but just a guess..... Are you the guy that posted the same problem at the lin-pire forums also ?

Thanks for the reply. I have it fixed now. I had to get the copy of grub entry from the linspire installed drive. And then added it to debian's grub list.

The original entry I had to guess what it may have been, but it seems linspire use a different setup.
