With Xandros' acquisition of Linspire, INC., the APT repositories have been lost. Since Freespire 2 is based upon Ubuntu Linux, it is possible to use some of their repositories. Although it is theoretically possible to RUIN (i.e., make unbootable) your installation with straight Ubuntu repositories, a number of Freespire (and Linspire) users have activated these sources and report NO problems. Please use caution and maintain REGULAR backups of your critical files.
