I can't understand the allure of Linspire and CNR. Newbies who claim that it makes Linux easier to use ought to really take a look at SuSE and use YAST, because that is really no more difficult and the programs are free. They are all provided in RPM format which means the software is installed automatically and an entry included in the menu. Mandrake has a similar feature in the Software Media Manager, where you can add FTP sites too and keep a list of software available which you can install easily enough.
Where's the problem?

I think that Linspire is filling the need of those who dont want to sit on the commandline or those that just want a Windows type environment, theres nothing wront with that. And looking at that type of market Linspire, Xandros and Lycoris do a great job. Instead of SUSE and Mandrake, I would recomend Ubuntu, the new user comming over wont have to deal with Dependencies, and pull their hair out looking for ways to solve them.
Anyways, if anyone wants to try Linspire right now would be the time to do it. Their offering Linspire plus six months of CNR for only $25, not bad, almost half price just for the distro it self and like getting CNR free.

havent you been reading this thread, jamyskis put it perfectly
'take a look at SuSE and use YAST, because that is really no more difficult and the programs are free'
it is EXACTLY the same with apt,or urpmi and ITS FREE
Linspire and CNR is a trick, they have just renamed "Home" to "my computer" or something along those lines
