Well im trying to install Linspire onto my dads labtop and i am constantly getting problems. Like i load up the Cd and it just gives me a 3 step visual Thing telling me to take out the Cd and push enter. But i got past that. I originally wanted to use ext3 but i moved to nfts that didnt work. now it is for some reason resiser or something. I dont know what wrong with this all. Md5 of the iso correct. Burned at 4x speed. I cant get it to install. I almost got it write one time it was at 90% and then it crashed...
Please tell me how do i get it installed?

Toshiba Laptop

60gb Hd
Linspire on a 12gb Partition

Jman888.
I'm posting here for the first time; really I just came here as art of my continuing pursuit of getting a Linux os onto my PC, but I too expect to be looking for a lot of help as a new user--hence, I feel I can at least post what has helped me so far (I installed Linspire yesterday)...rather than let your ? go completely unanswered

Again I should stress that with Linux/Linspire I am prettymuch the TOTAL newbie

file system: I formated the new, second hard drive which also was installed just yesterday, to FAT 32.--because I read somewhere NTFS is harder to use here.
"Worked for me" is all I can really say about my choice of FAT32 here.

your "burned" CD, of Linspire presumably: an official issue of a Linspire CD--while about $50 from Linspire company itself, is only (not boxed-set version) $19.99 + shipping, from Tigerdirect.com
Would seem to ideally enhance your chances, wouldn't it, to go with the official CD...you probably know what I am going to say now, but-- CD downloads or copies of OS s I understand sometimes lack some files to make them readily install or work properly
Good luck in any case
