Wireless PCI question
Anyone know how to get a D-link DWL-520 wireless PCI card working on Libranet.? During install there was a list of drivers, one of which is for ornico PCI prism 2.5 wavelan drivers. That is what the D-link is supposed to be, but that one would not take. Any Ideas?

What version of Libranet is this? If it's 2.8 or 2.8.1, try Installing the wlan-ng drivers.

I have to check on the version. I downloaded it free so I am sure it is the older version. The D-link I have is suppose to run with orinico prism 2.5 wavelan drivers For PCI. Libranet has that on it's installation bit wouldn't work from them. I uninstalled the regular driver that came with the D-link because it was messing up. Instead I went with windows drivers( computer is partitioned with M$ XP on one half). Is it possible that Libranet couldn't find my device because the drivers were not installed on the windows partition or does the Libranet installer only look for the device? It knows it's there because it is in the hardware listing on libranet.

Libranet 2.7-Classic had an older kernel, with an older version of the orinoco driver, so that's probably why it's not working for your wireless card.
You'll need a newer kernel, or the linux-wlan-ng drivers to get the card working.

OK. So the one you posted above should do it I imagine. Thanks. On the subject of drivers what about for sound. I have an integrated sound card on my Mobo, Soltek. Comes with AC'97 codec. That wasn't listed in the selections so I tried the Windows drivers selection. The kernel moduled installed but then an error screen comes up on the desktop saying it won't intialize.
