Wireless cards

I just installed Redhat 9.0. I'm having no problems running the internet using my on-board Ethernet NIC. However, i also have a proxim wireless PCMCIA card (I also tried same using SMC and Siemens cards). The system sees the card when it boots up, however I can't get the system to use the cards. I've tried installing PCMCIA support, and every other trick I could find on the Net. When I go to the network control box, and try to install the Wireless card, the system tells me the card is not present. Help???

Do you happen to know the chipset maker for these cards? There is a lot of support for Prism Cards (2/2.5/3); but not a lot of support for other chipsets.
