vmware tools install needs c header location
Well the install of Libranet on vmware workstation4 has gone smoothly upto the point of installing the vmware tools.
The tools install need to know where the c headers directory is, perhaps I didn't install the c headers but the default path vmware is looking is /usr/src/linux/include and they're not there... where are they ?

I'd like to know this as well please. I am trying to configure my hsf modem with the driver from linuxant, and it asks for the location. There's a tarball of the source, but nothing unpacked.
Help!
Nick

You can donload header files for your kernel with;
apt-get install kernel-headers-2.4.21-3
for the 2.4.21 kernel.
You can use synaptic for graphical browsing to find other kernels, headers and other software and it will install it all via apt also. Synaptic does have some problems with pinning, so you may want to learn a few apt-get commands for thoughs occasions.
Another option is to recompile your kernel as that will make the header files. You can use adminmenu to do that real easy.

travbot, that won't work on a Debian based system. And on a Red Hat system you would still need to compile the source to generate the header files before running vmware-config-tools.pl.
