IceWM preferences menu missing...

After upgrading my system via synaptic, I was amazed to find the preferences menu missing from the IceWM 'Start' menu.

On the stock install, it was located under IceWM 'Start' button on Bottom of the screen > System.

There were originally two IceWM entries there that I was hoping to use.

I have tried installing from synaptic to no avail, I have tried searching this forum and I have gone to the IceWM site and attempted to install from there but I do not have the prerequisite python knowledge to make that installer work.

Does anyone know the command line command that will bring it up?

I would prefer to not have to learn how to manipulate the text file in an editor.

Thanks,

dPa

I don't know what you mean. My ice has no GUI for preferences. You probably need to download icecc or any of the other various doohickeys and add it to the menu. Though that does sound like the hardcoded region of the menu. Or it was added to the taskbar - not sure from your description. You may have gotten some distro-hacked version.

What prefs do you want to change? There is no 'learning how to manipulate the text file in an editor'. That's what's so great about it. If you know how to use any editor for anything, you can use it for everything. :)

Thanks,

I found the preferences file and it wasn't as cryptic as I anticipated. So it turned out to be no problem after all.
