I'd like to remove Netscape from my 2.8 setup.
Just need to know if it will hose other progs that use the same shared library files. Oh and will it affect Mozilla?

It shouldn't make any difference, but I would just get hold of install packages (rpm, tgz, depending on what you're using) for anything you think might be affected and then just remove Netscape and see. If anything stops working, reinstall the affected package.
I have mozilla but not netscape on my system and have had no problems.

Good news...removing Netscape hasn't broken anything.
I used the package manager to keep an eye on dependencies.
Now my system is just a little bit lighter.

I removed Netscrape a while ago, the only problem I had was that some other programs call netscape for their browser usage. I solved it by linking konqueror to netscape.
ln -s /usr/bin/konqueror /usr/bin/netscape
Now when thay want to open a browser, the correct one is used.
