Christmas rip and encode nut

Hi, another new Libranet (2.7 Classic) user signing in.

Got a challenge for you: Ripped cd's encoded to ogg using Grip with cdparanoia can only be played with xmms. Noatun and kaboodle will not let it play, not even list it when opening from a folder.

user is member of both audio and cdrom.

If user logs out and root logs in, root can play the encoded files using Noatun and kaboodle.

I guess xmms works as it is not under the flappers of KDE, but if you can solve this mystery I would be grateful.

I have never really had any luck with Noatun and kaboodle... I use xmms for almost all of my music files
