The full JDS distribution - at the moment - must be purchased fromSun. It's not free.

Free JDS 90-day Eval copy available...
Recently, Sun quietly made available a JDS (Release 2) 90-day evaluation edition
HERE:
http://sdlcweb1d.sun.com/ECom/EComAc...MLoadBalanced=
(registration required).
This, of course, if different than the ISO of the JDS Release 2 LiveCD, which Jeremy has so kindly posted here on LinuxQuestions.
I hope this is useful.

JDS R2 iso available - 90 day eval + more
You can download the 90 day evaluation and if the 90 days pass, you can still run it but without the on-line update support.
That's how red Hat used to work. You would then pay Red Hat $65 for a subscription to the up2date service.
Sun's is $50.

So basically Sun is outperforming their competitors again!
Also do you know when we could expect JDS-R3 to be available to public? And is JDS-R3 also going to be available for download just as JDS-R2 now is?
Many Thanks
Ricardo W.

That's interesting, Tom, I thought it became a time bomb, lol!
Actually I have been trying on and off for maybe two or three weeks to succesfully get a download of just one complete iso
I know there are 3 CDs for the install plus all sorts of other goodies I probably won't bother with, like source.
I find I have two different entries in my "history" and whichever one I try, if the download speed is anywhere decent, it disconnects after about 50 or 60 or 70Mb has been transferred.
I'm currently trying again, this is a measly 27.1Kb/s transfer but so far I have 33% - 214Mb of 650Mb on this one, partly completed, with 4hr 35mins left to go.
Most frustrating, particularly as my ISP caps my account on this 512K ADSL connection. Dead unuseable downloads can be pricey
