can't get display using JDS live CD!!

I downloaded the JDS morphix live CD from the original site.
Wrote the image on a CD.
I am able to boot using that.
I can see the initialisation bar in the graphical mode
then my monitor cannot display anything

I thought that Xserver does not start becoz my generic display driver used by JDS cannot load the X environment at the default graphical settings of JDS. But when i pressed ctrl+alt+F1 , i found some gtk buffer error.

How do i preview JDS now?? Is is mandatory that i need use the installation CDs to install it on my harddisk and then run it?

Please help me out, meanwhile I will do my part of searching for possible explanations in google, the common tool recommended by experts to novice linux users.

expecting your reply soon, thanx in advance!!

I wonder if it is a driver problem with nVidia? I've heard of this elsewhere.

Take a look at these links:

http://supportforum.sun.com/sjds/ind...&start=0&rid=0

and

http://www.javadesktop.org/forums/th...essageID=52920

it appears that JDS is based On SUSE so it is consistant the both JDS and SUSE 9.1 have the same display problems that you are having.

You may have to wait for Sun or Suse/Novell to fix the problem.

Or you can try writing the fix yourself in GCC

sorry a late reply this time ,
registered in the sun forum but never got even a view for my question.. I think they do not get any support for newbies ...

Or is it that I did not make my question clear... Anyway, I have lost hope in using the live cds. so thanks thorn168 for your support!!
