crash on boot in Incognito 2009.0 beta (r19412) under VirtualBox

Greetings.

I suspect this is more likely a VirtualBox bug than anything wrong with Incognito, but I decided to ask here first to see if anyone has experienced something similar and/or had a workaround.

I'm running VirtualBox 3.0.2 (r49928) under 32-bit Ubuntu Linux 9.04 (Linux 2.6.28-13-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jun 2 07:57:31 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux) attempting to run Incognito 2009.0 beta (boot screen reports r19412) in a virtual machine.

I created a new virtual machine in VirtualBox and used the default settings, other than I unchecked "boot from hard disk" because a hard disk isn't needed when running a live cd.

Booting doesn't make it very far before I get a "A critical error has occurred while running the virtual machine and the machine execution has been stopped." error from virtualbox. The last thing on the screen before the abort is:

Code:
Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver
piix 0000:00:01.1: IDE controller (0x8086:0x7111 rev 0x01)
piix 0000:00:01.1: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
  ide0: BM-DMA at 0xd000-0xd007
  ide1: BM-DMA at 0xd008-0xd00f
I've tried enabling/disabling combinations of various settings under the virtual machine's configuration (enabling/disabling PAE/NX, VT-x/AMD-V, changing IDE/SATA controllers, etc.) but nothing seems to have any effect.

Anyone else experiencing this?

For me it boots if I enable AMD-V, but in any case Xorg doesn't work (video driver problems). I've debugged this to death without finding out much so I'm opting for postponing VirtualBox compatibility to the release after 2009.0 final which should be based on Ubuntu.

I also suspect this. I know for a fact that many old Incogntio releases worked perfectly on VirtualBox a year ago or more, but that is not the case any longer.

Good enough. For now I'll use one of the older releases and just wait as well. Thanks.
