How do I get Digikam into Grafpup?

I would like to get Digikam working in Grafpup as my camera isnt supported by gtkam and the sony mem stick cardreader on my laptop is not supported by Grafpup yet. Anyway, I liked Digikam when I tried it in PCLOS.

I have been in touch with John Biles who has digikam working in Teenpup. He installed it from scratch so there is no dotpup package.

I have downloaded Teenpup to see if I can extract the essential files and use the Grafpup KDE packages as a source for the dependancies, and then maybe add some if any are missing. Problem is that I havent done anything like this before and I am feeling a bit out of my depth.....I need advice on whether the Teenpup files will work in Grafpup and if so, how do I know/find the ones that are needed? Or is there an easier way? Could I install a debian package by using wget, and if so, how would I go about it?
Cheers, Mike
