Grafpup 2.0 RC1

Hi Nathan, I like the new web site, nice and crisp and easy to navigate.
I have been trying RC1 and was hoping to test the firewire with Kino. I downloaded 1.0.0 but I got this, running it from the terminal:

sh-3.00# kino
kino: error while loading shared libraries: libdv.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
sh-3.00#

I noticed that it did not seem to download and install the required dependencies, so I tried checking for dependencies with gpkgtool but it seems that part is still not finished.

Tried a type 2 install which did not work properly the first time I booted it, the log in manager did not work, and after running xorgwizard and xwin, I eventually got in without logging in. I shut down and booted up again, and this time, it all went smoothly. Very odd. Tried to download kino, but this time, gpkgtool skipped downloading at all, so I have nothing.

So far, the only other issue I have is that there is still no driver for my ipw3945 wifi. I know you were having problems with this. Did you get it to compile ok?

Cheers, Mike

Mike -
I know there seem to still be some unsettled issues with gpkgtool. Do you think it would be beneficial if I went ahead and brought PETget back for a while?

The driver is still puzzling me, and honestly I haven't had the time to figure it out.

Auda -
Not sure about the ntfs drives, I will have to check. I looked at the way the new cddburning-wizard is set up and there is indeed a bug using it with Grafburn, which slipped past me. I'll post a patch on my news blog shortly.

It's worse than I though, actually. I accidentally left the wizard out of the Dillo version entirely. You can type this in an rxvt window (assuming you are online) -
Code:
pkgtool -getinstall cdburner_wizard
Or you can wait till I post the wizard on my blog in PET form, which will be clickable.

It looks like even if the Opera and Seamonkey builds get my blessing there will be at least one more Dillo build. Actually, I will rebuild all three because some url's should now be updated in the internal documentation.

Nathan
gpkgtool has worked fine for a few other applications, so I wondered if it was just kino that was the problem. The type 2 install seems to be working fine so far with no other problems.

As for the wifi driver, I would really like to try to get that sorted, so if you have any advice I could use, I thought I could maybe try posting in the puppy forum if you are pushed for time.
cheers, mike
