re-viewing emerge messages for packages

often when I do a
Code:
emerge -uDN
emerge reports a lot of messages for various packages (e.g. one about NetworkManager requiring kernel options that were not built into my kernel, etc)

is there a way to.. re-view those later or are they lost if I fail to keep/read/save them after emerge spats them out?
