Live CD Wifi Config

Hi all,

I am attempting to install Gentoo on a laptop that doesn't have an Ethernet port built in. I have tried Sakaki's Guide and have gotten to the point of the commands
Quote:
livecd ~ #wpa_supplicant -Dnl80211,wext -iwlp2s0 -c/etc/wpa.conf -B

Successfully initialized wpa_supplicant
Running ifconfig afterwards doesn't supply and inet address. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or if I am missing something obvious. My hardware is a Dell Inspiron 13 5000 series.

I don't use Gentoo, but normally you would bring up the interface once it is configured.

Code:
ifup wlp2s0
