I'm trying to install gentoo but I am stumped with fdisk ?

I think I have used fdisk before, but I am not so sure .

Now what I was trying to do is delete my current extended partition, and create a new one with the logical partitions "/" "/var" "/home" and "swap" in it .

I created the extended partition, and after that I had no clue on how to go about creating the logical partitions within it . I did RTFM (had it open in a seperate terminal) and I tried browsing the limited Gentoo docs on the site (none said anything about creating logical partitions within an extended partition ) .

I also have the option of keeping my current "/" "/var" "/home" and "swap" partitions, as they are adequate for my installation, but how do I re-format them and set the mountpoints ? I know mountpoints are contained within /etc/fstab and I could edit it, but I can't just simply set mountpoints without reformatting the partitions in question .. At least, I don't think so . xD

*EDIT*
I found out how to reformat my mountpoints with mkfs . So do I simply edit the fstab file ?

Yes, just edit the /etc/fstab file.

The handbook is pretty good in my opinion.
