How to blacklist kernel source in portage?

OK

So, I installed a gentoo-sources-2.6.33 kernel in my system, which came with 2.6.32.11.

When I try to rebuild the entire system, it seems it remakes the supposedly Uninstalled 2.6.32.11 kernel, etc and ignores my installed
kernel?!

So, heres questions

1) How do i stop portage from rebuilding wrong kernel?

2) How do i blacklist any software?

thanks

Seems you system came with vanilla kernel. Then emerge -C sys-kernel/vanilla-sources should be enough.

Seems you have USE=build. by default emerge not remakes kernel.

to blacklist you can use /etc/portage/package.mask
e.g
Code:
echo "<sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.33" >> /etc/portage/package.mask
echo "sys-kernel/vanilla-sources" >> /etc/portage/package.mask

If you mean that it is compiling all the updated packages against an old kernel, which is what I think you mean, then the following will assist you in selecting your newer kernel as the preferred one to compile against. The way to have this happen automatically when you install a new kernel is to add the symlink useflag to the kernel in /etc/portage/package.use or make.conf

Code:
(Install eselect if you don't have it)
# emerge eselect
(See the list of available kernels)
# eselect kernel list
Available kernel symlink targets:
  [1] linux-2.6.9-gentoo-r1
  [2] linux-2.6.9-gentoo-r2
(Select the correct kernel)
# eselect kernel set 1
