A lot of people tend to see multi-million dollar efforts like those in the music and movie industries and think everything is just going into the pockets of some Monopoly-mascot caricature studio bigshot with seven vacation homes

Not only is that an incredibly juvenile and uninformed way of looking at either entity, it's also just plain inaccurate. From family experience with these people, I can tell you all that a lot of money changes hands through someone looking to invest in Project X or Y. Whether that someone is just a friend who likes the idea of getting involved with music, a complete stranger who sees potential in your project, or a distributor. If you have deals that your studio is making with Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, Pandora, Sirius XM, whatever you want -- then someone is going to eventually have to pay out a huge chunk on top of that.

And if you can't get the $$ together to pay your investors back, congratulations. You've just legally defaulted on your loan, which means your ass is now in the hands of collection agencies. That's going to be a pretty big barrier to anyone investing with you again in the future: if they have half a brain, they'll look at your ability to manage money and run the other way.

Noted: poster has a tendency towards ad hominem attacks.

And what people exactly are that?
I was wondering when you'd come to the actual musicians in your post?

OK, on re-reading it seems you really are talking about the film industry here.

And what's all that got to do with Youtube? How is youtube helping those poor struggling movie industry investors to pay back their loans?
