I've always understood the Russian word for "no" to be "nyet". According to this site "HeT" is the Russian word and is pronounced "NYEHT":

Noticing the spelling on that link it appears despite its similarity HeT is Cyrillic alphabet which would explain the difference in pronunciation.

Actually use it? No I only use windows when I game and linux only has so many games on it.
I would not use it on a normal basis like I do linux as it is now.

Finland is probably the first country in which Linux worked . Before it became a world wide phenomenon.

But it's good to know that windows works "just fine" in two countries more than I was aware of.

They've screwed up DOS, then Windows, & they had a unix version before - so why would anyone sensible want something that's been in MS hands.

If you define screwing up as being the most popular and widely used, then yes, perhaps they have.

MS could release their own BSD, too. Hotmail is running on FreeBSD.

Since that was in his signature and had a scratch head smiley on it you might assume it was meant to be humorous.

I used to tell people you couldn't "remember" anything because that would require you first "forget" it and if you'd done that it is no longer in your memory. On the other hand you can "recall" something that isn't currently in your consciousness but is still buried.

That reminds me. In the 9th grade I was taking a makeup French test. It had a section to translate French verbs to English. When I got to "oublier" I said out loud to the teacher: "I forget what oublier means." She had no immediate reaction so I continued with the test. About 5 minutes later she started laughing and asked me if I'd meant what I'd said. I confirmed it had been a joke.
