I've always understood the Russian word for "no" to be "nyet". According to this site "HeT" is the Russian word and is pronounced "NYEHT":
http://masterrussian.com/vocabulary/net_not.htm

Noticing the spelling on that link it appears despite its similarity HeT is Cyrillic alphabet which would explain the difference in pronunciation.

Finland is probably the first country in which Linux worked . Before it became a world wide phenomenon.

But it's good to know that windows works "just fine" in two countries more than I was aware of.

Why not give it a try??
It's a bit like saying you wouldn't use a Bentley because it is built by VW

Definately not!

They've screwed up DOS, then Windows, & they had a unix version before - so why would anyone sensible want something that's been in MS hands.

If you define screwing up as being the most popular and widely used, then yes, perhaps they have.

MS could release their own BSD, too. Hotmail is running on FreeBSD.

Lets see ...
MS Linux ... free, but you will need a free activation code. Free means you have to sign up to at least five commercial mailing lists. Code needs to be renewed weekly and will be sent to you using one of mailing lists you subscribed to. Your box must be online at least once every day and MS IP addresses can not be blocked, otherwise most of functionality of MS Linux will be automatically disabled. I'm sure there will be much more ...

Since that was in his signature and had a scratch head smiley on it you might assume it was meant to be humorous.

I used to tell people you couldn't "remember" anything because that would require you first "forget" it and if you'd done that it is no longer in your memory. On the other hand you can "recall" something that isn't currently in your consciousness but is still buried.

That reminds me. In the 9th grade I was taking a makeup French test. It had a section to translate French verbs to English. When I got to "oublier" I said out loud to the teacher: "I forget what oublier means." She had no immediate reaction so I continued with the test. About 5 minutes later she started laughing and asked me if I'd meant what I'd said. I confirmed it had been a joke.
