Working in Germany

Hi!

I am planning to get a Jobseeker's Visa to go to Germany and find a job there (6 months to find a job). I would like to start by picking where to stay initially. I am thinking of Berlin (perhaps more opportunities there) and Munich (closest to Italy where I have relatives). Where I stay right now, I don't mind the hassle of the city and the long commutes so I don't mind living in those cities as well. But maybe the rural places in Germany will make my preferences change. Do you have any suggestion where I should stay during my first months?

As for other requirements such as language, my German is getting better I think, and I will be taking a language exam in 6 months. I will also try learning French.

I am planning to get RHCSA, LPI, and RHCE to get me an advantage, since I noticed from Bundesagentur job listings certifications are usually required. Comments?

Suggestions are very much welcome! Thanks!

If you come from Italy, then I recommend Munich - especially the suburbs.

I am living ~20 km away from Augsburg and I am born in Berlin - I donīt think you like Berlin.

Munich is beautiful, Leipzig as well. If you are serious about employment in Germany make sure you are familiar with SUSE and openSUSE as it is very popular there, and throughout Europe.

Also brush up on all those EU employment laws etc...
