You want to see me sitting around, covered in beer bottles and microwave popcorn packages? :)

itsjustme 09-10-2003 05:25 PM

Here's some photos of my systems before last weekend. I have rearranged, but don't have the shots yet. Every once in a while I need a little stress relief so I disconnect all my computers and wires and electrical outlets and move them to the other side of the room, rearrange the furniture and reconnect everything. Usually takes a couple of days.

itsjustme,

What's with the funny straps around everything? Like around the towers and also around the router and modem and stuff?

Is your house on an airplane or something :D?

itsjustme 09-10-2003 08:12 PM

Stability.

The modem and switch are so light weight that the cables in the back make them stand up off the front feet. Those tiny bungees keep them sitting there in place.

The bungee cords around the towers is to keep the legs of the shelf unit supported against the towers since another shelf is supposed to be in there giving support to the whole unit.

hehe - Actually, I live in a large garage with a cement floor.

Hey, how come nobody is showing us their setups?

I've rearranged again. Here's how it looks now.

And this is where it all is.

And, no, I'm not writing a manifesto. ;)

Whitehat 10-22-2003 03:05 PM

I don't have any place to upload mine either :)

Sorry

itsjustme 10-25-2003 02:49 PM

Anybody else?

kev82 10-25-2003 03:13 PM

i cant take a picture cos i havnt got a camera but if Whitehat wants to email me his pictures i'll host them for a few weeks.

qanopus 10-25-2003 04:38 PM

i would like to do that as well. Don't have an digital camera

itsjustme 10-25-2003 04:44 PM

Don't have a digital camera?! Get one! ;)

I don't have one either. Can't afford it. I'm using my Logitech zoom webcam and the ImageStudio software that came with it over on my W2K machine. A digital camera would certainly be nicer.

I saw a thread of desktop setups somewhere. Might have been over on justlinux.
