well... although i am totally against Microsoft products aand Microsofts evil marketing tactics, i feel i am still obligated to heelp show some more exploits in Windows.
This exploit deals with the password...
There is a special boot disk which you can boot off of to change the admin password in winNT, win2k and WinXP. The boot disk is actually Linux based.
here is the forum from which i found the disk: http://forum.fsckmicro$oft.com/cgi-b...c&f=2&t=000050
change the above to actually say f-u-c-k and m-i-c-r-o-s-o-f-t as this forum blocks out swears and the microsoft name.
Originally posted by Leffe All you need to to is remove the sam file where the password is located. A floppy with ntfs-dos should be sufficient. At least this works for NT4/2K
%systemroot%\system32\config\sam.
If you try to access the file while running the OS you won't be able to, you should do it from DOS or another operating system, I'd suggest boot into linux if you have a dual boot system of course, copy the file and run Crack or John The Ripper against it, you can find some brute force cracking soft on the net, try search sourceforge.net for brute force password guessing tools.
