Windows Server Rant
You know what I really hate about Windows Operating Systems? The darn windows splash screen! This morning our Windows Server 2003 system wouldn't boot up and the only thing that was on the screen was the darn Mircrosoft Server 2003 splash screen with a little line going across.
Now I understand that there are probably reg or system tweaks that will have my system display what's really going on, but after using Linux server for a couple of years, I've really grown to appreciate the Verebos display. With linux i know exactly whats going on, if a service fails to start, then its displayed on the screen in plain text:
Service Name FAILED
With windows you have to boot up with a boot logger, then once the boot fails you have to reboot in to safe mode and view the boot up log file. crap crap crap. Just let us see what's going on while the system is starting!
