Win98 reinstallation

Does the Linux partition have to be erased to reinstall the Windows OS? It appears Windows can't find a multitude of the same .dll files, even when I use different Win98 installation disks.

Moved: Better suited in the General forum.

And no, Linux doesn't have to be removed. If your getting DLL type errors, that's a Windows issue. It might cause that if your trying to install on an existing partition formatted for Linux.. but better details get better replies.

Have you tried pointing the path to c:\windows\system instead of the CD when it asks for a .DLL file.
One of the problems with Windows is its too damn stupid to look in the destination directory to see if the file already exists, instead it will ask for a new one by default
