win7 formatting is getting stuck in "Setup is starting"



Hi Folks,

I have samsung NP300V5A-SOMIN laptop. While I am trying to login it got
Stuck at Starting Windows
Then I have tried to format with my win 7 DVD but the also it got stuck at
"Setup is starting"
But I can format my laptop with UBUNTU. Need your help to address the same.

Please be a bit more specific. After inserting the DVD, are there any other messages? Do you enter anything?

Have you tried waiting like 5+ minutes for it? What is longest wait?

Next time this happens, try pressing the Caps Lock key to see if the indicator light lights up.
and/or NumLock key.
This will tell you if the machine is locked up.
You may have to wait a few minutes if the machine is truly "busy" to see a visual response.

Any hard drive activity during this period? Visually or audibly?
