No need to distinct us from the old JL crowd. If your a part of us, then well good, if you think were just here to host your posts, I don't like that idea at all as this site wasn't created to have two separate groups. Were LQ, you got to accept us for how we handle things, alot of us are use to this site like you were to LNO, and I don't think most of us old timers here are going to change.

Be a part of our community or not, but just don't refer to us as "they" cause we don't refer to you newcomers as "them".

Just a thought....
There is a subtle difference. I dislike imposing, and it took a couple of years(at least) at LNO for a specific cadre to form. While we do feel quite at home, this is NOT lno, and some parts of it are better left where they were...over there. We had gotten to the point where we put trolls on ignore lists regularly, and it made for much nicer discussions. I see no need to resurrect threads from over there, just because they were there. I see no need to duplicate the atmosphere, instead I think we could rather focus on migrating into this one, and it does need to be different. While the majority of us are a specific group, and you have welcomed us...I know the new pressures and irritations that come along with an influx of new members, especially a group that was pretty tight at another board. I realize that these threads that are an attempt to "plant a seed" to feel more like home by the lno guys, will eventually fall off the boards from non-use. I just don't want my crowd imposing until we have had time to get better acquainted. Most don't realize that it is like a long term relationship, you put in time and effort, you get a stable partnership. You come in jets flaring, you end up with scorched earth. I don't mean to separate the groups, but I think a little politesse is not out of the question from my crowd. I guess I just want them to show what they are made of, before the bar get's too drunk to care.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. The tread by the same name at JL was just so fun and entertaining to watch (you may notice I only posted in it once), I was hoping to see a new one!

I agree, this is a new board with the opportunities to learn and do new things. I will admit that I like the familiar faces around but that doesn't mean that I want the same old familiar threads around. Plus to try to reincarnate old threads sort of takes the fun out of letting them evolve as they will, in a sense its anticlimatic and dare I say a bit silly?

On a side note I have a headache so bad that it would give a small child an anurism were s/he to have it.

Also <La La La La Laaaa!

hehe....someone please kill me now, the pain!

It's strange...

I feel like I know those guys. You know when you changed schools and clustered with the few old friends that came along? That's how this feels. Strange how I have actual feelings about this virtual world. If I saw any of you on the streets I wouldn't give you the time of day. (well..almost)
I used to spend hours a day on LNO. It was like a home. Y'all are my "kind hosts, offering shelter" because I don't know you yet. All that will change soon enough.

No - he means carrja didn't mention his name, not me. Can you say plagarism?

And I agree with je_fro - the names look so familiar, but everything else has changed. We are all a bit dazed and confused right now. It will pass.

I'm tired of these threads, makes no sense replying to a thread where you'll only hear the very same things, mixed up with a variety of flavored words. But still the same. Sorry.

The thing with any religion thread, no matter thread title or beginning top it will go on forever. I've had religious discussions on other boards (non linux) and they never end. Not only that but if the current members do end the discussion some newbie is bound to come in and start the debate back up again. For this reason I think that religion should be banned as a topic on all boards . JK

Anyways for the record I had just become a Just Linux but got sick of the attitude over there and found this board, now I'm finding this board to be about the same way. I'm actually starting to wonder if maybe Linux Boards are just full of people who are stuck in there ways, kind of goes against the Linux mindset doesn't it?

I've said it before and I'll no doubt say it again:
Without religion there'd be no major public holidays.
Let that be an end to it.

Well we probably haven't had one in over a year or so as no one cares to discuss these types of topics, thats whats going to Church is for. The only reason this one was brought up was some LNO refugee thought it would be fun to keep their existing one going from LNO which is not a good start to make new friends here.

These threads might go one with an endless debate but every single one we've had here that started got closed due to people misbehaving.

I'd say lets let this one slowly die and slither away among the other threads... and talk about Linux, Yeah.. that's what these forums are for anyways
