I have had very few problems with Linux for a few weeks now. Everything has been configured properly. Everything works properly. The network, the sound, the 3d hardware acceleration... everything works. I have installed all the software that I need...
I am totally satisfied.
What more questions can I ask now in these forums?
Did you set up suspend to disk? suspend to ram? remote GUI (vnc/ssh, X/ssh...)? remote control (lirc)? web, pop, imap, mail-filtering, smtp... servers?
I haven't really compiled a kernel yet. But before I do that I think I'll back up my data
I have done some basic configuration with GUI stuff, but I'm really not too keen on learning all that command line tools: I know the basics which are enough in most cases.
I know things like ls, chdir, lsmod, lspci, mv, rm, cp, ln and so on...
Wine: another problem. I'm not really bothered though. I would never really want to run Windows programs in Linux. When I want to play games, I boot into Windows 98.
The really problem I face is this:
I have stopped experimenting with Linux because I have basically set it up to run smoothly in my system. I am a little bit wary of doing anything that might screw it up and lead me back to square one. Also since I have installed most programs I need, I really don't want to do anything that might make me reinstall the system.
As for answering question I am not a guru! I hardly know anything beyond my own limited experience. But yes. I try to answer questions to the best of my ability.

or try it with old dos games, under boche, or dosemu.
If you really are into dos games, check out DosBox. Although, very slow even in faster machines, it has a great compatibility list. I even got that emulator installed in my modded Xbox
