Why do I stiil have windows on my hard drive?
So I can do income tax returns and do electronic circuit simulation. Those two programs for Linux
would certainly help to put Linux into the desktop
mainstream. Please don't reply---Use 'Wine'. What if I wanted to wipe Windows off the drive?

I've never used Wine, but I don't think you need Windows installed to use it. You just need the program(s) you want to run with it. Not 100% sure on that, though.

I bought Mandrake 8 at a local store when I became frustrated with Windows ME. Mandrake, in those days was nothing to write home about either but it was cheap and it supplied me with hours of tinkering.

Today, I have donated to two small linux distros who's support has been stellar. They deserve some sort of income for the work they do.

Look at how far linux has come with very little. Just think how well it could do with a little income.

Please send money!

to pay for linux is just what i saw alot of supporting what you enjoy.people buy microsoft for one reason and that is ease of use (no thinking) just click and poof your there. most people are scared of the word linux cause they have never used it and its kinda sad because i think any distro you decide on is better than windows in so many ways. i dont hate windows but i just cant stand using it. i think of it as windows being and automatic transmission and linux being a stick. different in so many ways but they do the same thing (in a very generalsence)
