Well Oooggg and Dominisi have both bean dead for nearly 2 million years and 6000 years respectively, so I am sure their rights have lapsed. That said, the equivalence to the claims from Oracle have about as much weight, if slightly better legal chances. (Only slightly)


It is a case that makes Oracle look somewhat less than laudable. Even had they won in a court of law, it would have cost them in the court of public opinion. Currently they are losing in both.

I remember that when I was still at work, back in the 90's, there was a lot of talk about copyright on "look and feel", which some software houses were trying to enforce. Most people thought it was a lousy idea because it would force programs to look and feel quite different while doing the same task. If cars were built like that, no one who bought a new car would be able to find his way around the dashboard.
