Who got a Glastonbury ticket?

Argh! Every year I try this, and every year it's a nightmare - trying to get a Glastonbury Festival ticket is like trying to get blood from a stone.

Has anyone had any luck? Post your tips...

From what I read in the paper this morning, they sold out in 90 minutes. basically, only people who preordered got them. I also think they have security measures in place so that only the people that bought them can use them. I'd suggest checking out national and local radio programmes - they usually run a competition or two with tickets as the prizes.

Yeah, by eleven o'clock yesterday morning, people who were getting through on the website were getting messages saying that there weren't enough tickets to satisfy their request - which I think is management-type speak for "We sold out".

This year the ticket will have a photo of the person that bought it printed on it, so it's going to be very tough to get around that!

I think my sister may have got me one (she managed to get through on the website somehow...), so fingers and everything else crossed...

There's also a resale of tickets that have been rejected (insufficient funds, one person buying two etc.) some time in April; not sure when though.

I think that there are more on offer - some people ordered more than one ticket (you're not supposed to apparently) or pre-ordered and then couldn't afford them. Keep checking the sites.

I have gone over the fence every year bar 2001. It isn't for the faint hearted as a couple of people broke their leg a few years back. You have to be quick else you get caught, but that adds to the fun.

You had to submit your photo this year in March so you could get a reference number. They're printing images of the ticket holder on the tickets themselves so people don't have to take passports/driving licences etc with them to the festival. It was still first come first served last Sunday though, even if you were one of the first to register in March.

I'm sure they enforce the barrier more and more each year, but most of the guards and stewards on the site are people who just wanted a free ticket, so they're only motivated so much...
