dalek, i acutally did that forreal.

i became a profession windows installer (self titled). I have done some crazy installs and fdisking . my favorite is getting around upgrade versions of the newer osess by installing win98 1st. but i dont deal with it anymore. 2 many lame service packs. you cant even install win2k server and have time to download the IIS patches before the damn thing gets code red or nimda or something.

Exclamation I believe it

I was watching The Screen Savers the other day and they were talking about msblaster. This guy had the bug and formatted the drive and reinstalled. When he connected to the net, he had the virus before he could install the patch.
I laughed so hard I feel out of the bed.

I guess you would have to work at it pretty hard for Linux to get a virus. Never had one so I'm not sure.

I get my practice working on everybody else's puter. I like when they ask if I have 'the same problem' they have. I smile and say 'no', I have a REAL system. Let them wonder usually.

Fun though.

Well, my main box with rh9 had problems for awhile and I was forced to use an older computer with 98 on it. Now that rh9 is running again, I will try to get the older computer set up with a linux distro so I will not have to go through that again.

Unhappy MS has the gun to my head, that's why

I am an attorney in San Francisco, and I have to go to the SF court web site at

http://www.sftc.org

and they will take only IE, unfortunately. I ordinarily use konqueror, or Mozilla.

I am really quite a newbie, and I'm not sure how to get answers off of this site, so if anyone has an answer, would you please email me at einfeldt@earthlink.net? Or you could call me at 415 351 1300. Thanks in advance!

To drag this back to the original thread, why is it so ridiculous to run IE on linux? (For testing purposes i mean). There are such discrepencies in terms of rendering between mozilla and ie, even between mozilla and opera, and lets face it, most people on the web haven't caught on to firebird and are using IE on windows. If you want to make a site that's attractive, legible even, for most people, you'll need to at least check the site with ie. Unfortunately i can't check mine, but i'd like to.
