When is fiber going to be available in my area?

When will fiber optic be available? I know its already in California, but where? I live in Cali and I am dieing for fiber to come out. I live in ----- California, Which is part of ------------ County. Which is next to LA. (well -------- then LA) Well where is fiber at in California right now? And when is it coming to a house near me? :] Thanx in advance!

Fiber is probably just near you :) The problem is that the part closest to the consumer is the most expensive. Just ask the telecom you plan to get fiber from. Maybe you'll speed things up that way.

Thanx for the reply. But if you google verizon + fiber optic, you'll see that Verizon is going to change all of there DSL users to fiber optic. I need this for my servers, and it seems that Texas and a few other states already have it, just not to many people.
