What video card for gaming?
Hey....
What video card do you guys suggest for a gaming machine? I'm not wanting to spend $450 for the top of the line but I want something nice for around $100. I'm not a huge fan of ATI, but I'm open to whatever everyone thinks. Ideas? |
my GE-Force 4 440 MX only cost £60 (not sure of $ conversion rate)
and along with my Athlon 1333 and 512Megs of ram, it still runs the latest games comfortably. and i bought it months and months ago !!!! go for the Second Newest nvidia card, (whatever that is) |
I think NVidia has better performing low-end cards over ATI. Also, NVidia's driver support for Linux is way ahead of ATI's. In fact, I am considering dumping my Radeon 9700Pro for a GeForce 6800.
For $100 you should be able to get a GeForceFX 5600-series card. They're decent and will play any modern DX9 game. Check www.newegg.com, they have pretty good prices. |

Especially for Linux, nvidia is much a much better choice than ATi. |
