Unfortunately not. Sign languages differ just as much as spoken languages do. Another interesting fact is that they're not at all related to the spoken language of their region. For example, British Sign Language is not at all like English, and neither is American Sign Language.
Spanish is cool, but it depends on where you learn it. I learnt in Cochabamba, Bolivia, which has the best spanish for beginers. In Santa Cruz (another department) they drop z and s from the end of words.. (hence Santa Cru) in Argentina, they butcher r sounds... In Spain, they all lisp, because of one of the kings, he had a lisp... In South America you get the best spanish... I love spanish....

With such behavior, and lack of respect to others, Its no wonder your WTC got demolished... Looking forward to the next mass explosion...
And i'm very disappointed at the moderators for allowing such racists to continue with their remarks in this thread, and to leave this thread open. But heck... If they can do it, then i sure am not going to sit here and watch.
here I am trying to say that no one else in the whole wide world knows anything about terrorist attacks.
Anyways I would recommend german or Japanese. german especially if you are an engineer. Japanese as a lot of companies do business with Japan and it definitly looks good on your resume.
I think the best thing to do is learn a language spoken by a lot of people who are bad at speaking English (ie do not learn German because although it is nice country and they are nice people they speak English a lot better than the Spaniards).
Therefore something like :-
Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Russian or Chinese.
I speak Spanish, Portuguese and am learning Russian and I can tell you that Spanish is the easiest to learn. I am pretty sure that it is easier than Arabic and Chinese so go Spanish.
yeah but everyone and their mother knows how to speak spanish if you want to learn a new language you might as well stand out. German is good if you are into engineering because some of the best engineers are from germany and Japanese is good for anyoen plannign on working at a major comapny as a lot of business is done with japan. So while it may be more difficult it is infinitly more useful.
some people tell it's one of the hardest languages, and one of the most beauful, as KneeLess told there are a lot of great writers to read their novels, cause read in translation it's not a big deal, when i'm reading something from english or hebrew writers i'm trying to find it in their native language!!
i my self lived in Ukraine so i know Russian and Ukrainian wich are of Slovenian group, and now i live in Israel and learnt hebrew for about 6 months, and thare are a lot of arabians here, but there is no need to learn the language of such people...
so i can speak 4 languages, and to learn language without not using it it's a bad idea!!
some times i think of japanese, but i can here it only in TV
Ancient Greek. This is the mother of all languages of the world. If you learn it, then you will never ask again about the matter of languages in general.
